Background
Britt Lintner has held leading roles in finance for many years, starting at Lehman Brothers in 1995 for eight years and currently with hedge fund Man/GLG in London. She discovered early on in her career that she did not have a professional, fashionable and functional wardrobe that she could wear both during and after office hours.
Taking a creative hiatus between 2003 and 2005 from finance, Britt satisfied her vision with an MA in Fine and Decorative Arts at Sotheby’s Institute of Art and a summer course at the Istituto Marangoni.
She returned to finance in 2005 at GLG Partners and simulataneously launched her eponymous label, in response to a fashion market unsuited to the needs of equally style-conscious, professional women.
Inspiration
Britt took her inspiration from friends and colleagues who agreed how difficult it was to buy stylish clothes to span both the working day and into the evening. She began wearing her own designs to meetings and corporate events, which ultimately resulted in sales. Every new piece satisfied Britt’s criteria of enabling women to dress quickly and confidently for work, without compromising on femininity, style or individuality. They then had to be able to move seamlessly into the evening, with little or no accessories.
Britt’s vision was to create luxury apparel for professional women by producing dresses with an emphasis on day-to-night and multi-season flexibility. Each timeless piece plays a crucial role in the working wardrobe and caters to the unique requirements of a poorly served, high value consumer sector.
Designed for working women by a working woman, Britt Lintner quickly established a reputation for stylish and sophisticated luxury apparel addressing the professional and personal demands of working women. The Britt Lintner brand has become synonymous with the Real Women forum and network, which celebrates success, not celebrity.
